approaching a landscape
My solo exhibition “approaching a landscape” was shown at Österåkers konsthall in Sept-Oct 2023. The exhibition merges a few projects and works produced in the last 2 years into a kaleidoscope that weave in and out if each other, exploring tactility in the photographic material, the temporary monument, liminal time, and the echo of ancestors.
In new concrete sculpture, “Sorbus intermedia” (2023) I have cast the hollow inside of parts of a 100-year-old ox tree, downed by the winter storm in December -22, in essence inverting time. The new video work, “I hear echoes and I speak to ghosts” (2023) can both be viewed as a poem and an essay film, drifting between coastal landscapes, storms, caul births, shipwrecks, ancestral reverberation and the artistic process.
