Peter Norrman is an installation artist, filmmaker and photographer. He is based in Stockholm and Brooklyn.

He works with site + situation specific art (different forms of environmental, performance and installation art), expanded cinema, multi platform sound and film/video projects, film sculptures and photography.
He showed his cine-sculptural project RETAIN as part of Terminal Convention, a major international groupshow in a decommissioned airport in Cork, Ireland (2011). His immersive installation about northerness, n. waves (with Swedish sound artist Leif Jordansson), opened at the Immigrant Museum in Växjö, Sweden in August 2011 and Northern Stage, Newcastle in October 2010, and he showed SCAN, a largescale outdoor video installation (with Jeff Morey/Jacqueline Passmore) for Capital of Culture 08, Liverpool (2008). He has been collaborating with David Byrne on the songcycle/DVD/performance Here Lies Love (2010-11) and created the video for Red Fly/Blue Bottle and Tinder (Latitude 14, 2009-2010) which was shown at HERE Arts Center, Creteil, Paris and EMPAC. He has frequently collaborated with crossmedia collective The Builders Association: Invisible Cities (2006), Xtravaganza (2002), JETLAG (2000) and media workshop at FACT (Liverpool, 2006), as well as 3-Legged Dog (Spygarbo 2011). His live video installation, 45Steps (with NOMO), appeared in the River to River festival (NYC, 2005) and his video, Building, was shown at the Gothenburg Film Festival (2005). He created a permanent video installation for the High Coast Museum in Sweden (2007). He is a recipient of: a STEIM residency (Holland); 4 NYSCA Individual Media Awards (2000, 2003, 2005, 2010); an Obie Award (JETLAG, 2000; an Honorable Mention, Environments Category, I.D Magazine for media design (2004) and an Aurora Gold Award for Independent Film and Video (2005).
